Why can't I access LobbyCentral using Internet Explorer 11?

Internet Explorer 11 may cause LobbyCentral to stop working.   The browser will display the "Please Wait" dialog and never move to the Login screen. To fix this issue, please review  both methods below.

Please note that LobbyCentral versions older than 6.1.0 will not work with IE11.  In this case, you must upgrade to the latest LobbyCentral version.

Fix 1

  1. If you are using version 6.1.0 or higher, delete the following folder from the LobbyCentral server:  c:\program files\fuhr software\lobbycentral\web\app_browsers
  2. Please make sure all users are logged out since deleting the folder will force the application to reset itself and logout all users.
The App_Browsers directory contained a browser definition file that was used for an older version of LobbyCentral, pre 6.0.   This file is read by Internet Explorer and forces it to override browser settings.

Fix 2

The initial browser definition file that released with Microsoft .NET 4.0 does not contain definitions that support browsers beyond version 10. The fix is to update the browser definition files on the web server.

Windows 2003
