Service Descriptions (on-premise)
Service descriptions are assigned to the service queue’s drop-down menu when a new request is created. A service description must be added to at least one queue. You may create one service description to be used in more than one queue.
Service Properties
The service properties are used to customize each service description. Each service description needs at a minimum, the service name, and an assigned queue. Other options include the following:
Description | The name of the service. The name is limited to 100 characters. |
Kiosk Description | Provides the option to give the service a more "customer friendly" name. If used, this description will be used in the kiosk in place of the main description name. Reports will always use the main description name. |
Kiosk Default | If enabled, this service description will be displayed in the kiosk, as the default choice, when the queue is selected by the customer. The customer may still choose a different description if this is not the service they are checking in for. Only one kiosk default may be assigned. |
Category (Optional) | Used to organize descriptions into groups. Has no effect during check-in. Please see Data Tables in the LobbyCentral On-Premise Admin Manual for more information about Service Groups. |
Priority | No longer used. |
QMonitor Color Code | An HTML color code used by the QMontior application to display pending service entries in the specified color. |
Status | Indicates if the service description is active. If Inactive is selected, the visit reason will not show in the drop-down menu during check-in. |
Long Description | If desired, a long description of the service may be entered to assist users who are checking in customers. |
Email Notification Override | Used to override the option, " Email check-in notification message to users" in System Options. LobbyCentral will send an email notification to the listed email addresses only when entered in this field, rather than to all users. |
Assign To | Assigns the visit reason to a queue. |
Assigned Queues | Displays the queue(s) the visit reason has been assigned to. |
Show in Kiosk | If True is selected, the service description will be displayed in the kiosk. If you do not want this service to be displayed, select False. |
Add Service Description
- Under Settings, click Service Descriptions.
- In Manage Service Descriptions, click New Service.
- Enter the service description name.
- Enter the Kiosk description (optional).
- Select the service’s category (optional).
- Enter QMonitor Color Code (Optional).
- Set status to Active (default).
- Enter the long description of the service (Optional).
- Enter information for Email Notification Override (optional).
- Click the drop-down menu in Assign To, and select a queue to add the service to. Repeat this step until you have added the service to all required queues. Note: A Service Description must be added to at least one queue.
- Select whether to show the service in the kiosk.
- Click Save.
Note: Be sure to Assign the description/service to a queue, or it will not appear in the list of service options, when creating a request.
Modify Service Description
- Under Settings, click Service Descriptions.
- In Manage Service Descriptions, find the service to update and click Modify.
- Make desired changes.
- Save.
Delete Service Description
- Under Settings, click Service Descriptions.
- In Manage Service Descriptions, select the service to remove, and click Delete.
- Confirm that you want to delete the description.
Note: You cannot delete a service description once it has been used or added to a queue. Modify the status to Inactive to prevent it from being used.
